The food diversity and biodiversity of rural Bengal (India) are dwindling. Deforestation for monoculture timber plantation and industrial agriculture is primarily responsible for this. Current climate crisis makes the situation even worse. bon (https://bonforest.in/) is a non-profit initiative which has started in January 2022 in southern Bengal. bon (means forest in Bengali) to involve communities to create gardens that produce diverse food while helping to restore the environment.
