What is the relationship between climate change, the ecological crisis, patriarchal oppression, and gender norms? How can we deeply transform ourselves and our societies, for a more sustainable, emancipated and just world?

While the climate crisis has been mainly discussed as a scientific problem requiring technological and scientific solutions, this exhibition highlights the need to question and deeply transform the current systems of domination, exploitation, and colonialism. Worldwide, women and girls are disproportionately impacted by climate change and environmental issues and are often excluded from decision-making processes. LGBTQ+ voices are often left out of climate discussions.

This exhibition explores concepts and movements arising from ecofeminism that spell out how climate change, women and minorities oppression, and non-human nature domination are intrinsically related issues, all tied to the dominant paradigm of patriarchal capitalism. We invite you to wander into the alternative perspectives and worldviews that point to the importance of a gender-sensitive, intersectional, and transformative approach to climate action. The exhibition sheds light on women and minorities as figures of resistance and agents of change that have risen worldwide against patriarchal, extractive, colonialist, and ecocidal projects.

How can we imagine and build resistance, practices and ways of life to confront the current system of oppression and invent and act for an alternative paradigm?

With the contribution of artists, activists, and researchers, we invite you to put on your ecofeminist and intersectional glasses and explore different themes such as gender norms and climate change, colonialism, climate justice, dualism, interconnectedness, and spirituality. With a diverse range of means – paintings, embroideries, videos, performances, interactive installation – this exhibition invites us to rethink our relationships with the environment, among, and within ourselves. By connecting your brain, your heart, and your hands, we hope you can start exploring new narratives and imagining a world freed from ecological destruction and patriarchy, in which harmony, happiness, and justice can thrive.

Everyone is welcome, no matter how much you already know about the topic.
There will be events during the 3 days of the exhibition. Stay tuned for more information!
