Join us for a special screening of The Migration Blanket – Climate Solidarity Film which depicts the detrimental effect of climate change on the lives of girls and women globally and calls for climate justice. This film also features over 400 pieces of handmade artwork from refugee and marginalised women in Commonwealth countries, the U.K. and creator of The Migration Blanket project, international Artist and Human Rights Campaigner, Salma Zulfiqar.

The educational art film calls for climate justice and presents personal accounts of how women and girls lives are being affected by climate change.

The artfilm is a Legacy project of The Commonwealth Games 2022 and has been screen nationally and internationally in cinemas, art galleries, museums and Universities, including during the Venice Biennale 2022.

The film’s Director, Salma Zulfiqar, will join us for a Q&A after the film is screened.

Salma Zulfiqar is a multi-award winning Artist whose work has changed the lives of vulnerable and marginalised people and inspired students’ studies around the world. Salma was voted as one of the most influential women to hail from Birmingham, U.K with her work featured in the book: Women Who Dared To Dream. Salma’s awards and accolades include the National Rising Star Diversity Award powered by the Sunday Times, The U.K.Prime Minister’s Points of Light Award and the British Citizen Award, dubbed the ‘People’s Honour Award’ for her exceptional contribution to the Arts.
