Your time planning for week 4

The course runs full time 100% 40 hours per week during 20 weeks during the autumn semester. You are responsible for your own time planning, study time, and that time will be different for different people with different study techniques, experience and pre-knowledge of issues in the course. A rough estimate of the 40 hours you have allocated for the course during week 4 are:

  • Online material, videos, audio, texts, activities: 4 hours
  • Course books and your own reading: 22 hours
  • Seminar assignment: 10 hours
  • Mandatory seminar: 2 hours
  • Summarizing the week Friday after seminar: 2 hours

The course goals that are examined during week 3 are:

Written preparation assignment week 4

Your assignment in preparation for this Friday’s mandatory seminar is divided into two parts, the first focused on deciding on your practical specialization, and the second part on collaboration, ethics and conflicts that could potentially be challenges during your ten weeks in the field.

From last week’s assignment part 2 on your practical specialization and the updated Inspirational Online Library for Practical Specializations https://www.cemus.uu.se/cclip-2024-iolps/ decide on what you want to work on for the coming ten weeks. It’s okay to change your mind and decide on something different then what you outlined in last week’s assignment part 2. Fill out his form and submit: https://eu-s.zoom.us/m/bUbRJvVGN

  3. From your project idea and description identify, analyze and critically relate to power relations, ethical dilemmas and conflicts which may occur in the work within the field with your project. Mandatory seminar week 4 – Friday September 27 at 13.15-15.00

For this week’s seminar we will finalize your plans for the coming ten weeks and unresolved issues and things you need help with.

  1. In smallar groups – brief 1-2 min. presentation of what you have decided to work on for the coming ten weeks, and in discussion with the others writing a list of issues you to solve and things you need help with.
  2. In the whole class jointly going through your lists and see how we can support each other, and solve some issues.
  3. Week 5-15 – what happens now – reseminar Oct 2, resources and updates, report backs, communication on Studium and Whatsapp-group, and booking individual meetings if needed, and more …

To be able to study the course you will need a computer, tablet or smartphone with access to the internet. Seminars, workshop and online meetings will be easier if you have external headphones with a microphone. It’s important that you download Zoom here: https://www.uu.se/en/students/it-for-students/software/zoom and install it on the device you’re using for the course. You can test video and audio in the settings.

You can ask general questions at the end of mandatory sessions online, and course coordinator Daniel Mossberg is available every week day Monday to Friday via text/sms 073-065 02 28, call if there’s anything urgent. Emails will be responded to within one week at daniel.mossberg[a]cemus.uu.se.
