How: We open the doors at 12.00 for mingle, the seminar starts 12.15 with a presentation by the invited speaker followed by discussion 12.45, and we end 13.00 sharp. Bring your own lunch.

Marie Stenseke It takes humans to make peace with nature

Moderated by CRS

This seminar is about the world biodiversity platform, IPBES and the critical role of social science and humanities for addressing biodiversity loss.
Marie Stenseke’s presentation will be based on her experiences from working as a qualitative-oriented social scientist in the scientific lead of the platform for more than seven years.

Bio
Marie Stenseke is full professor in human geography at the University of Gothenburg where she leads the research group Nature-society relations in a landscape perspective, at the Human Geography Unit. Her research concerns biodiversity, nature conservation and landscape management from a social science perspective and she has been involved in a large number of national and international research projects and programs, and engaged with knowledge communication through various special commissions including acting as Co-chair of the Multidisciplinary Expert Panel of Intergovernmental Platform on Biodiversity & Ecosystem Services (IPBES) 2015-2022. Marie is currently also Guest Professor at SLU, Uppsala where she leads the interdisciplinary initiative Interdisciplinary Academy.
