Prof. Dr. Marina Fischer-Kowalski is director of the Institute of Social Ecology, Klagenfurt University & Senior Lecturer at the University of Vienna. She is also author of a number of books and papers on Social Ecology, Social metabolism for instance Decoupling natural resource use and environmental impacts from economic growth (2011, with M.Swilling et al.). Her CV also includes being lead expert in the International Resource Panel (IRP) of the United Nations Environmental Program (UNEP; 2007 cont.) and former President of the International Society for Ecological Economics.
